Uticaj zemljišnih supstrata na proizvodnju rasada krastavca (Cucumis sativus L.)

    Summary

The cucumber, together with tomato and pepper is a vegetable crop that is most commonly grown in greenhouses. Frequent change of vegetable crops grown in greenhouses and very gentle root of cucumber (the root must not be damaged) causes the production of cucumber seedling with a system of protected root. Due to a slightly developed root, and its low absorption in the first period of growing it is recommendable to use substrates with larger amount of organic matter and easy accessible soil nutrient. We have researched the influence of compost from hot beds, natural and improved peat from Bosansko Grahovo, Kovin, Pljevlja, Sremska Mitrovica and mixture of these substrates. We have researched reaction of PMS cucumber line, components for some pickling cucumber hybrids in the Centre for Vegetable Crops in Smederevska Palanka.
